Vinyl Details

This one is a normal black vinyl which sadly has some of the worst texture on the edge I've ever seen. Like they just did not cut it right or bevel it at all it's just flat and rough on the edge. I don't think I've seen this happen on any other vinyl I own. It does get points for being only one instead of two discs, I guess.

Personal Thoughts

This was like... the second vinyl I ever got? I'm pretty sure it was the first one I got after the Undertale soundtrack. It was one of the first albums I really enjoyed back in middle school, so that's not entirely surprising.

I think this album has some higher highs and lower lows than Ocean Eyes. The tracks I like I REALLY like, and the ones I don't... uh. Well, they're still okay. (Other than the fact I could never listen to "Hospital Flowers" even before I totalled three cars. I do not like thinking about serious car crashes in my music.)

Anyway! Most of it's really good! I love the power chords all through this album, which you can hear the most in "Deer In The Headlights" I think. It's just got a very fun punchy feel that's pretty unique compared to Owl City's other albums in my opinion. "Plant Life" has the bonus of being in waltz time which pretty much always makes a track banger to me.

"The Real World" always has that middle school nostalgia of projecting onto the Nobodies of Kingdom Hearts fame. "Deer In The Headlights" is always funny, "Honey And The Bee" is really cute and I love all the dumb puns, and "Kamikaze" has grown on me a ton since I was younger and intimidated by the almost-shouting in it as a very sheltered preteen, lol. "The Yacht Club" makes absolutely no sense but I love the metaphors in it anyway. That could be said about a lot of the songs though I guess haha.

Once again the bonus tracks were really good and it's a bummer they're not on the vinyl. "How I Became The Sea" was always a favorite, and I was obsessed with "To The Sky" from the Guardians of Ga'Hoole movie back in the day.
